This course raises awareness of key risk factors in treating patients with mental health illnesses. Those key issues are broken down into six major areas: 1.) Intimate relationships with patients—when, if ever, and how is it prudent? 2.) How do you delegate prescription writing and management to other professionals? 3.) How do you assess and document the potentially suicidal patient? 4.) What are the issues in prescribing SSRIs? 5.) How do you terminate a physician-patient relationship, especially when it involves mental health issues? 6.) What are the important factors to consider in assessing substance abuse?
